A Brand New Delta Website…Same Day Confirmed Standby?

I surfed on over to Delta this morning to see if a recent flight posted to my account and I was surprised to find a completely updated website! Some of the cooler features I’ve come across on the slick site so far include:

A My Delta Dashboard page which includes a summary of your SkyMiles, upcoming trips, my wallet (with receipts and credits/certificates), and a very cool trip map powered by Google Maps that shows both past and future trip locations.

They’ve updated their seatmaps as well, providing enhanced detail including configuration for each aircraft type and seat width/pitch.

I also like their new mile tracking charts which are pie charts displaying how you’ve earned and redeemed your miles during the current membership year.

Now best of all, an updated award booking tool and calendar….I WISH.  Unfortunately, it’s the same old award booking engine and broken calendar (though in wide screen format now). Let’s hope this gets updated soon too, though I won’t hold my breath.  I still need to explore the rest of the site, but so far I really like it!  What do you think?

Some other cool new features include a reported very valuable SDC same-day confirmed standby option, a passenger upgrade list with fare type, and an enhanced Google Maps powered Sky Club listing. Three readers now have verified a SDC option for flights today but there’s talk that this is just being tested for now unfortunately. Overall I like the crisp new site, but it’s extremely cluttered and I can’t imagine trying to load the site using Gogo.
