@Adam, I did my own post and analyst of the Fandango BOGO Deal (http://travelwithgrant.com/2013/05/30/fandango-bogo-movie-tickets/) and it really depends on the movie, theater, showtime, and type of ticket you buy.
.
2 IMAX movie tickets at night would cost $18.25 after the discount, or $9.13 for an IMAX movie.
.
2 Matinee movie tickets during the day at a different theater cost $7.25 after the discount, or $3.63 per person. That’s a deal.

@Grant – Thanks, great article. It certainly does depend. Here in NYC, IMAX movies are $21.95 per person pre-discount, 3D movies are $18-19.50 pre-discount per person, and regular movies are $14.50 pre-discount. $19.50 is discounted for IMAX, $18.50 for 3D, and $14.50 for regular movies.

I thought CA (orange county area) was pricey, but I guess NYC wins again.
.
In the small print it says “On the Review page you’ll see the price of one ticket and convenience fee deducted from your order, up to $19.50 total” so you will be maxing out the discount on the expensive tickets. Do you have Regal or AMC theaters near you?

@Grant – Yep, they are mostly AMC and Regal (coupons require surcharges in most cases).
