$50 Off Your Next Hotel Stay with AMEX

To celebrate the new partnership between American Express (Advertising Partner) and TripAdvisor, AMEX is offering a $50 statement credit when you sync your card and spend $250 or more on a hotel booking with www.amextravel.com. The offer is valid through 12/31/2013. Unlike the almost constant Hotels.com, Travelocity, and Priceline promotions, major hotel chains are not excluded, however Corporate Cards cannot be used. Remember, most hotels will not award points for stays booked via a 3rd party like AMEX.

    • @Joey – NP, there is no “fee” per se, just ensure that the rates are comparable to what you see on the hotel’s website. Note that hotel points will likely not be earned for hotels booked via a 3rd party (AMEX).

    • @D – Not sure about Fine Hotels & Resorts as the T&Cs specifically state amextravel.com. However, it might be possible as you can easily access FHR via the book now link in the left hand corner and the merchant ID will likely be the same… anyone have better information?

      • Thanks. I might try it. The reason why I ask is because I am actually planning on using FHR and if I need to go over 250 then I will book a room that is 20 dollars more expensive.

        • @d – gotcha, that makes sense. Well, what I can say is that American Express customer service via the secure message center has been excellent in the past about providing credits for sync promos that did not “register correctly for your card”
