Amazon $25 Credit from American Express…on multiple cards

by Adam

American Express is offering a $25 statement credit on Amazon.com purchases of $75 or more. The fantastic thing about this promotion is that you can apply the offer to all of your AMEX cards (just like the Small Business Saturday promo) and gift card purchases count as well! Register each of your cards here. Amazon also has a Cyber Monday promotion for 30% off any book with code – BOOKDEAL.

Offer valid only for purchases on Amazon.com; not valid at any non-US or non-English versions of Amazon.com or websites affiliated with or linked to Amazon.com. If you order an item during the offer period but it is not sent to you until after 12/31/13, it may not count towards determining whether your purchase qualifies. Enrollment is limited. Limit 1 statement credit per American Express Card across all American Express offer channels. Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 12/31/13, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase. Note that American Express may not receive information about your qualifying purchase from the merchant until all of the items from your qualifying purchase have been provided or shipped by the merchant. Statement credit may be reversed if qualifying purchase is returned/cancelled. If American Express does not receive information that identifies your transaction as qualifying for the offer, you will not receive the statement credit. For example, your transaction will not qualify if it is not made directly with Amazon.com. In addition, in most cases, you will not receive the statement credit if your transaction is made with an electronic wallet or through a third party.

Don’t forget about some of the other great offers from American Express including $5 off Exxon Mobil, $5 off BP, $25 off BestBuy, and $20 off Walmart.com.  To see if the offers are available on your cards, log in to americanexpress.com, click on a card, scroll to the bottom of the page where you’ll see two tabs, and select the “offers” tab which is to the right of the “latest transactions” tab. Three of my five cards have the Exxon Mobil offer…which is only good at the pump. See the details for each offer below including required spend and offer expiration dates.

PS – Anyone see the 60 Minutes story last night in which Amazon announced plans to deploy an armada of mini-drones to drop small packages at your doorstep???

I watched the 60 minutes show last night. Not sure how well the Amazon Prime Air drones will work. I feel like people would try to hit the drones or shoot them down to get whatever item is being delivered. Only has a 10 mile flight range too.

I did see the 60 Minutes piece and I agree that people might try to steal from it. But I envision someone trying to do that and (instead) hitting something else and going to jail for a long while for it.

It will be interesting to see if/when and how this technology is used.
