The World’s Longest Running Airlines – KLM, Avianca, and Qantas…DL is #7

by Adam

To find a US airline, you’ll have to scroll all the way down to the 7th spot on the list of the World’s Longest Running Airlines. KLM (#1) and Avianca (#2), were both established in 1919 while Qantas was founded one year later in 1920.  We weren’t allowed to re-publish the list, but check out all the airlines here and take a read through their history…pretty cool.  Delta, the only US airline in the top ten longest list, was established in 1924.

Check out the full list and each airline’s history here.

Interesting that DL is the only one that started as a private concern, and all the others are government owned/operated (national flag carriers).
