As part of this journey, passengers will have the opportunity to participate in 3 1/2 days of shore excursions, including stops in Havana, Santiago de Cuba and Cienfuegos. Prices for the journey started at $2,662 per person for an interior cabin. This price excluded visas, taxes, fees and port expenses. The cruise departed from the Port of Miami in Florida.

Passengers on the ship reported a number of reasons for wanting to travel to Cuba, and be on board this inaugural trip.

“The draw was Cuba and we have lots of Cuban American friends and have heard their stories and heard the sacrifices their parents had to make to get them over here, so we wanted to see it,” retiree Joe Dillard said.

A former U.S. Navy serviceman who had been to Cuba before during Navy visits was excited to be able to see more of the island.
