Chinese Police to Patrol Rome and Milan in Chinese Uniforms

In an attempt to help Chinese tourists in Italy, Chinese police are being deployed on the streets of Rome and Milan according to CNN. More than 3 million Chinese tourists visit Italy each year and have recently been targeted as “easy prey” for petty theft. Paris began a similar program in 2014.

Four officers, wearing Chinese police uniforms, will share information with Italian police and help Chinese visitors in need to contact authorities or report crimes. “Its main goal is to heighten the sense of security for Chinese tourists who come here.”

Italy’s Police Chief Alessandro Pansa added:
