75K MileagePlus Explorer Card Offer, 85K for Others + More Amex Special Offers

by Adam

Check your email, it seems that the rumored June 75K offer is not only real, but there could be an 85K targeted version! The cards (both the 70K available here and the 80K email version) offer the option to add an authorized user for another 5K points. Reader Tom from Austin, TX recently received this message from the “MileagePlus Partner” email address:

For a limited time, earn 80,000 bonus miles with the MileagePlus® Explorer Card. Simply use the Card and spend $3,000 on purchases during the first three months. Apply now with your exclusive link — this offer ends on June 30, 2016. $95 annual fee†

Earn miles:*

•80,000 bonus miles after you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first three months your account is open with this limited-time offer that ends June 30, 2016.

This product is available to you if you do not have this Card and have not received a new Cardmember bonus for this Card in the past 24 months.

•$50 statement credit after spending $3,000 within three months.

•10,000 bonus miles every calendar year you spend at least $25,000 on purchases with your Card.

•Two miles per $1 spent on tickets purchased from United® and one mile per $1 spent on all other purchases.

So it seems that the offer does not waive the $95 fee, though 75K or 85K miles are certainly worth it and you’ll receive a $50 statement credit. The new cardmember language (receiving the bonus no earlier than 24 months prior) is also included. Note that the standard offer for this card is 30,000 points after $1000 spend within 3 months.

I received the United increased sign up bonus email but was rejected because of too many credit card sign-ups in the last two years. I actually didn’t think I had 5.
