AMAZING: 2nd Night Free + $100 Credit at Conrad, Waldorf Astoria, or Curio Properties

by Enoch

Update: Visa Signature Luxury Hotel has discontinued the promotion with 2nd night free, but the $75 gift card promotion is still valid.

Wow, this is an absolutely amazing deal. Visa Signature Luxury Hotel Collection is offering a free night, $75 Visa gift card, and $25 hotel credit with 2+ night stays in selected Conrad, Waldorf Astoria, and Curio properties around the world.

The Deal

What this boils down to is a 2nd night free (on 2-night stays) + $75 Visa Gift Card + $25 F&B Credit. We usually see great deals with 3rd or 4th night free, so this is quite fantastic. Along with this promotion, you will also get the following benefits when booking with Visa Signature Luxury Hotel:

  • Best available rate guarantee
  • Automatic room upgrade upon arrival, when available
  • Complimentary in-room Wi-Fi, when available
  • Complimentary continental breakfast daily
  • VIP Guest status
  • 3PM check-out upon request, when available

There are two “catches” to this promotion. First, you must pay for your stay with a Visa Signature card. Basically, many VISA cards that have a $5,000 limit or above qualify as Visa Signature; just look under the VISA logo on your card. Additionally, not all Waldorf Astoria, Conrad, and Curio properties participate. You can see the properties that participate in this promotion at the end of the post.

Conrad Bangkok Executive Corner King Room - Bed

Conrad Bangkok Executive Corner King Room – Bed

Example: Conrad Bangkok for Basically $25/Night

Still, even with these restrictions, this is still an pretty awesome deal. For example, you can stay at the Conrad Bangkok from October 1 to October 3 for $75 a night after the promotion, and on top of that, get free breakfast, a $25 food & beverage credit, and a $75 Visa gift card.

If you value those extra perks at face value, that’s basically an effective room rate of $25 a night at the Conrad Bangkok. AMAZING!

When you book through the Visa Signature Luxury Hotel Collection website, you can see the promotion pop up under eligible rooms:

eligible room for promotion

You will still see the full price at check-out, but according to the terms and conditions, the last night of the stay, including its associated taxes and fees, will be deducted upon check-out.

Offer must be booked at one of the 50 participating Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts™, Conrad Hotels & Resorts™, or Curio – A Collection by Hilton™ (“Participating Hotels”) by December 31, 2016, for stays through March 31, 2017 with an eligible Visa Premium card through a Visa Luxury Hotel Collection website or Visa Concierge. Minimum 2-night consecutive stay required. Free night will be the rate for the last night of the stay inclusive of associated taxes and fees and will be deducted at the hotel upon check-out. Maximum one free night per room, per stay. Back-to-back stays within 24 hours at the same hotel are considered one stay, regardless of check-out and check-in activity. Offer is subject to availability at the time of booking. Offer cannot be combined with any other offers or packages unless otherwise specified. Normal occupancy and cancelation policies apply. Hilton Worldwide and Visa reserve the right, in its sole discretion, to withdraw, cancel, modify, amend, suspend or terminate the offer, in whole or in part, in any way, at any time, for any reason, without prior notice or any liability to any person.

In order to get the gift card, you have to book your stay before November 30, and must complete your stay by February 28, 2017. Otherwise, you can book by December 31 and complete the stay by March 31, 2017, and still get on the “last night free” promo.

In my experience, Visa Signature Hotel Collection bookings are like AMEX Fine Hotel & Resorts, where the nights are elite-qualifying, and you earn points on your stay. That’s just the cherry on top.

So I just booked two nights in October at Conrad New York. I then called Visa Signature, who called the Conrad and told me this rate was actually that I would be paying for those two nights but then I would have the option of a 3rd night, the one right after, free. This seems totally at odds with the way everything in the promotion is spelled out and makes no sense. I just e-mailed the hotel to ask for advice.

Thoughts? Anyone else running into this?

Hi Joe! Funny! I just booked 2 nights at the Conrad NY for October myself. And I agree, that doesn’t fit with either the rate description or the T&C. On the website, it says “Book 2 nights or more at _____ by December 31st, 2016 and stay by March 31st, 2017 to enjoy your last night free upon check-out.” That seems pretty clear-cut. Perhaps we’d need to give it some time to sink in before we get some official clarification.

Hi Ed! Appears so. From the T&C: The $75 USD Visa gift card will be mailed within 6 weeks of your completed stay to the address associated with the booking after completion of the eligible hotel stay.

Did anyone notice a limit to the number of times you can qualify for the $75 GC? About to book 2 nights in my wife’s name and two in mine….

Hi Nico! Sadly, the T&C suggest that this is a one-time deal (emphasis mine). “Offer must be booked with a U.S.-issued Visa Signature card through the Visa Signature Luxury Hotel Collection website (VisaSignatureHotels.com) to receive a one-time $75 USD Visa gift card.”

Sadly, I think we’re also misinterpreting the deal. It says stay a minimum of 2 nights and enjoy a free night. I think it wasn’t meant to be intentionally misleading, but was just poorly written. I think they mean pay for two nights and you can enjoy a free night after that. As in, third night free.

You could be right, but the confirmation says:
“Book 2 nights or more at The Towers of the Waldorf Astoria New York by December 31st, 2016 and stay by March 31st, 2017 to enjoy your last night free upon check-out.”
That sounds like if you stay two nights, then your last night is free, meaning your second night.

I agree that it sounds that way. But look at the first comment on this article. I definitely think that the way it’s written, it reads as though the second night is free. But based on that guy’s experience and the overall poor written English skills that are so rampant these days, I’m led to believe that they didn’t mean it to be interpreted the way that they’ve made it sound. You definitely don’t have to convince me that it sounds like the second night will be free. But I think you’re going to have a very uphill battle arguing with the front desk agent who checks you out when they simply say that the promo was pay two nights get one free and they proceed to charge your card for two nights not really caring what the Visa Signature Hotels website says and not having the authority to erase the second night from your folio even if they wanted to. As the hotel will already have you in a bad spot by the time you have to make your argument, I would want to hear several successful reports before checking in on this deal.

That said, I did make two (cancelable) bookings and I’m certainly rooting for the second night free to be right…. I’m just thinking it isn’t. And that most managers of Waldorf Astorias in particular aren’t going to comp you anything that isn’t directly in their playbook. If their playbook says third night free, I think they’ll lean on the interpretation of the deal that I’m citing above. And realistically, how likely is it that they really mean to make the second night free at all of these properties and then give the credits on top?

Again, I’m rooting for it to work. Just doubtful.

If anyone is considering the Conrad Dubai, service is phenomenal there – especially in the lounge. I’ve stayed multiple times and won’t even consider another hotel in Dubai – they’ve been good enough to earn my loyalty. Unfortunately, the dates I’d need during this promo are extremely expensive there – but I’ve already booked on points. I picked up another Conrad in this deal (I hope).

Conrad wrote back to tell me that I was correct and that I will receive 1 comp night for my 2 night stay.

Hi Kara. If you use the first link included in the post, you should see it right on the top of the page. The $75 GC promotion carries its own T&C and I did not include that in the post.

I don’t think the entire promo is still valid. The link is only for the $75 gift card no 3rd night free. & I searched for the Conrad Bangkok, I checked the rates on Conrad site & it is $126/nt. With this promo the rate for 2 nights is $175 + 10% booking fee. So essentially you are for the $75 gift card AND the $25 credit.
