From now until the end of the year, you can earn Delta Medallion Qualifying Miles, as well as double miles, when staying at Hilton properties worldwide.
Earn Delta Medallion Qualifying Miles with Hilton Stays
Under this new promotion, Hilton HHonors members can earn 250 Delta MQMs when they stay 2 nights or more any hotel in the Hilton portfolio. This includes stays at all Hilton brands. You must register for this offer here, and the stays have to be completed by December 31, 2016.
There is a small catch to this, it’s that you have to select Delta as the Points & Miles partner in your Hilton profile. This is what Hilton calls the “Double Dip®” earning. With a few exceptions, Hilton HHonors members earn 10 points per dollar spent, plus either:
- 5 bonus Hilton HHonors points per dollar, or
- 1 airline mile per dollar
Under this promotion, you’d be earning double miles. In other words, you are forgoing 5 Hilton HHonors points in exchange for 2 Delta Skymiles, plus the 250 MQMs if you stay 2 nights or more.
I don’t think this is a particularly awesome deal, and there is an opportunity cost. However, it might be useful for those who are short on medallion qualifying miles. As we move closer to the end of the year, I can see this being helpful if you would otherwise need a short mileage run to reach a status level.
As a reminder, Hilton is currently also offering double points on stays (or triple points if you book through their app). This promotion, along with Hilton elite member bonuses, can be stacked with this Delta MQM offer.

To be eligible for this offer, you must (1) register online at HHonors.com/DELTAMQM prior to check‐in, (2) select Delta Air Lines as your preferred Double Dip® Points & Miles Partner in your Hilton HHonors account profile, and (3) complete a minimum 2‐night stay at a hotel or resort within the Hilton Worldwide portfolio from October 3, 2016 through December 31, 2016.

Interesting. I have a ton of Hilton Points. I have a bunch of SkyMiles. I will be staying at a Hilton in China for about 4 weeks (cost somewhere around $4,000 US when you consider the total folio cost.
This Hilton does not code as a Hilton as far as Citi is concerned (2 previous stays did NOT earn the 10 points per $). So I can get 8,000 SkyMiles versus 40,000 HHonors points. Might as well put the spend on the SPG card, since there is no real benefit from Citi.
