Icelandair is offering some amazing fares to Scandinavian countries, and you can add a stopover in Reykjavik for free! Fare sales to Scandinavian countries are often available, since WOW Air, Norwegian, and other low cost carrier often have drastically low fares. However, it’s especially exciting when Icelandair offers them. This is because they don’t nickel and dime as much, and you can even include a stopover in Reykjavik for free!
That means the fares you book with Icelandair includes checked bags (but not a meal). This fare sale appear to be applicable for travel in January, though there are some good prices up until April/May as well. This probably won’t last long, so I’d book soon!
For example, you can fly from Boston to Reykjavik, and then continue to Oslo for ~$350 roundtrip!
Or perhaps fly from New York JFK to Copenhagen, with a free stopover in Reykjavik for $360:
For those in the West coast, there are some pretty great deals as well. In January, you can fly from Seattle to Oslo, with a free stopover in Reykjavik for less than $500.
I included a stopover (a “layover” over 24 hours) in Reykjavik in all of the above examples, but you don’t have to include it to get the low prices. However, I highly recommend checking out Iceland for a day or two, especially because of their beautiful scenery!
Just this afternoon, I wrote about the Icelandair Stopover Buddy Service, and this is a fantastic opportunity to capitalize on it. The service pairs you with an Icelandair employee, who will show you around Iceland for a day, and even help you plan out a celebration. The service is completely free, as long as you book an Icelandic Stopover with Icelandair.
You can book your flight here. Feel free to comment with any special city pairs with great deals if you find any!
