Qatar Airways Unveils New First Class Amenity Kit by Giorgio Armani

Qatar Airways has unveiled a new amenity kit for their First Class product, which is only available on their A380 flights. The new kits will continue Qatar’s partnership with Giorgio Armani, and apparently were designed with Armani’s 2016 – 2017 Winter Collection in mind.

The amenity kits will come in different versions, intended for male and female passengers. The men’s version comes in a bag that doubles as a toiletry kit, made with a ribbed fabric. The contents include:

  • Armani Eau Pour Homme Shampoo (75ml)
  • Armani Eau Pour Homme EDT (20ml)
  • Armani Men Master Lotion (40ml)
  • Armani Men Perfect Master Serum (5ml)

  • SÍ Lotion (75ml)
  • SÍ EDT (75ml)
  • Giorgio Armani Perfection Eye Makeup Remover (40ml)
  • Giorgio Armani Crema Nera Extrema (20ml)

Both versions of the kit will also come with lip balm, socks, eyeshades, and ear plugs; the women’s version will include a hair brush as well. I like that the products provided will come in generous sizes, and I am sure many will be able to repurpose the kit post-flight. But I do have to wonder, why they chose to include a bottle of shampoo, of all things, for the mens kit…

Qatar Airways codes the forward cabin in two-cabin short-haul flights as First Class, but they currently only offer “real” First Class on their A380. A380 with overnight services is available to Bangkok, Guangzhou, London, Paris, and Sydney. Since Qatar is a member of the oneworld alliance, you can easily redeem American Airlines miles for their flights at the following rates.

  • 50,000 AA miles: Doha – Bangkok or Guangzhou
  • 62,500 AA miles: Doha – London or Paris
  • 100,000 AA miles: Doha – Sydney

The rates to Asia are actually pretty reasonable; for example, Japan Airlines charge 60,000 JAL miles for the same Doha-Bangkok or Doha-Guangzhou routes. You can check out credit cards that earn miles, along with other Travel Rewards Credit Cards here.
