Quick Tip: Quickly Find Out Your Uber Rating

by Enoch

It’s no secret that I am a huge fan of Uber, mostly because I don’t drive, and spend a decent amount of time in cities, where Uber is usually available. For those familiar, you know that Uber uses a 5-star rating system for both riders and drivers. With every Uber ride, you get to rate your driver, and your driver will also rate you in return. The average ratings are visible to both parties, and a low one can affect your ability to get (or pick up) a ride.

As a passenger, you cannot see what rating your driver gives you in an individual ride. However, Uber has made it pretty easy for you to find out what your averaging rating is. The easiest way is just to visit the Uber website, and you can see your rating through this direct link.

Alternatively, you can also check your rating in the Uber app. For this post, I will be illustrating with an example in iOS. First, navigate to the menu in your Uber app, and select “Help.”

From the Report An Issue menu, select “Account and Payment,” and then “Account Settings and Ratings.” Select “I’d like to know my rating.”

Submitting your request will bring up your average Uber rating immediately. Mine was a 4.85, which, with almost 400 rides under my belt, I’d say is pretty respectable! (#ShamelessBrag)

I have heard that Uber drivers receive a warning and get placed “under review” if their rating drops below a 4.6. As a passenger, though, I don’t think you will get denied a ride unless your rating is truly terrible. Ultimately, anyone can have a bad day, and you might give or receive a bad rating just because of that. I think the rating is there to prevent routinely rude or troublesome Uber users, and I wouldn’t place too much of a value of it, unless it’s really bad.

If you haven’t tried Uber yet, you can sign up using my code EnochRides (one word) to get $15 off your first ride.

I’m a 4.87. I was a perfect 5 until earlier this year when I was in Vegas. A driver gave me a low rating because I didn’t tip him enough – sigh.
