Sydney Opera House Getting $202M Makeover

The New South Wales Deputy Premier and Minister for the Arts announced back in August that the Sydney Opera House will be getting a $202M renovation, its largest since it opened in 1973. The makeover will kick-off in mid-2019 and last about 18 months, re-opening for the 2021 season. The structure will remain open during the renovation.

Condé Nast Traveler reports that the upgrades will include:

Updated entry and foyers under the Monumental Steps will boast everything from new elevators to digital art canvases, and provide better access for those with disabilities. A new multi-function center, where conferences and weddings with views of the harbor can be held, will be another highlight of the renovations. One of the biggest undertakings will be to improve the acoustics
