From now until November 7, 2016, Qatar Airways is offering 50% off business class fares when you purchase 2 or more seats. The discount is for flights the begin in the US, and is valid for travels between November 15, 2016 and June 15, 2017. There is a minimum stay of 7 days required.
Business Class isn’t going to be cheap, but there are actually many reasonable fares out of this promotion! For example, you can fly from New York to Singapore for less than $2100 roundtrip, per person.
All flights in the above example itinerary are operated by the A350, so you can experience Qatar’s new Business Class product, with reverse herringbone seats. Qatar has quite a few types of Business Class products, though, so make sure you check what aircraft operates your route.
Most of these fare appear to book into the “R” fare class. Qatar is a member of the oneworld alliance, so there are many options as far as crediting your miles go.
For example, JFK-DOH-SIN is 10,561 miles one-way. American Airlines award miles booked in “R” class with 100% base miles, and you will earn 1.5 EQM per mile flown, and 20% of the flown miles as EQD. This means with the roundtrip from New York to Singapore, you will earn:
- 21,122 award miles (46,468 for Executive Platinum)
- 31,683 EQMs (Elite-qualifying miles)
- $4,224 EQDs (Elite-qualifying dollars)
That’s not half bad for a ticket that’s less than $2,100, and is an easy way to boost your EQDs without buying bulk fares.

Alternatively, you can credit your miles with Qatar, though they don’t have the best redemption chart. They are, however, offering double Qmiles when you book under this promotion.
Of course, this promotion is really only good for those who are traveling with a companion. Qatar has published a list of lowest fares for the most popular destinations, so feel free to check out if there are any destinations that spark your interest!
