American Airlines Cruises is running a sweepstakes, where you can potentially win 500,000 AAdvantage miles and a $3000 cruise voucher. Five runner-ups will win 100,000 AAdvantage miles each.
As always, there is a little catch to promotions like this one. By entering, you essentially agree to receive promotional and marketing emails from American Airlines Cruises. However, the rules do not prohibit you from unsubscribing before winners are declared.

You must be 21 and a US resident to enter the sweepstakes, which run until January 31, 2017.
It’s worth noting that American Airlines puts an approximate retail value (ARV) on the prices, which will become taxable income. The ARV for the grand prize of a free cruise + 500,000 AAdvanage miles is $12,950, and the ARV for 100,000 AAdvantage is $1,990 (so now we know how much AA values their own miles!). You will be responsible for the taxes on the ARV, which will be treated as extra income. Some states have no state income taxes, and some (e.g. CA, DE, NH, PA) do not tax winnings on sweepstakes. However, you will still be responsible for Federal taxes.
