Delta Switching to 757-200 on One New York – Paris Route

by Adam

Back in November, routes online announced that Delta would be switching from a B767-300ER to a B757-200 on their daily Newark – Paris CDG route effective March 25, 2017. The strange thing was that their appeared to be a glitch on the Delta site where the operating aircraft was listed as a 757, yet the seatmap continued to display the B767. The phone representatives were seeing the same thing and it was confusing as to which plane would actually be operating the route.

Well, it seems like they’ve finally cleared things up and the change is actually happening. When I went to check the route again this morning for a Juicy Miles client, I noted that the seatmap was a B757. Of course, this an internationally configured B757 with fully lie-flat seats in Delta One, though I do find those a bit cramped.

Not to fear as the route will default back to a B767 effective May 25th.

Of course, none of this is that surprising given the drop in transatlantic traffic. See – American, Delta, & United Report 7-9% Transatlantic Traffic Declines, Post Election Bump Domestic

I think this is where they are getting the 767 for the RDU-CDG route. 🙂

@Hari – I believe that upgrade is effective 5/25, which is when EWR also upgrades back to a 767.

Detla: get over your 757 (and 737) fetish. Thanks.

having flown PHL-LHR in delta one, don’t mind the 757 at all in that class if (big if) you’re with a partner. very quiet, intimate cabin. allowed for great service.
