Male Delta Passenger Claims Intoxicated Woman Groped Him from Row Behind

by Adam

On a Sunday Delta flight from Detroit to Denver, passenger Donald Deschamps claims that an intoxicated woman groped him prior to takeoff. Deschamps says that he felt a hand reach up from the seats behind him and grab his body in a provocative area.

“The first time I thought it was maybe just a child, and it was just somebody grabbing me, the second time it happened, which was about a minute later, I jumped up.”

He then notified a flight attendant who thought he might be joking…

“The flight attendant said, ‘Is this a joke, are you two joking?’ I said, ‘No this is not a joke,’” according to Deschamps.

In the end, the woman was escorted off the plane, balanced between flight attendants as she was too drunk to walk on her own.

Delta for its part, says it’s up to the passengers to report incidents like this to authorities when a member of the crew does not directly witness them:

…a representative for Delta Air Lines said that in cases where the crew does not witness the harassment, passengers are responsible for pressing charges at the first available opportunity, or when following-up at a later time.

Deschamps says no one should be assaulted on a plane, regardless of whether they are a man or woman.
