Sneak Peek – My Bali St. Regis Pool Suite

by Adam

Greetings from the St. Regis in Bali! After staying at the St. Regis since Saturday,  I’m off to the W today. I had an amazing stay here and everyone and everything was simply fantastic! I will have a full trip report next week but in the meantime take a look at the pictures of my St. Regis pool suite (an upgrade from my originally booked normal St. Regis suite). The suite has an outdoor “backyard” area that is as big as the entire inside living space. The outdoor area of the suite includes a jacuzzi plunge pool and Bale Bengong (cushioned gazebo), two tables, daybeds, a couch, multiple chaise lounges, and a Buddha statue. Inside there’s a separate living room with a great couch and leather coffee table, walk-in wardrobe, really comfy king-size bed, stand-alone tub, rain shower, and two tvs (one built into the wall in the bathroom in front of the tub).

Up for tomorrow, a short list with pictures of my favorite things during my St. Regis stay, including the staff, the beach, the salt water lagoon that flows throughout the resort, the attention to detail, and the restaurants. Again, full trip-report next week!

Adam, my wife and I are also about to pull the trigger on the St. Regis. How hard was it to get the upgrade to the plunge pool suite with your Platinum status? Did you have to fight for it or was it automatic? How are the plat amenities?

@Mark L – The upgrade did utilize my suite night awards. I spoke to hotel management and SPG members are rarely upgraded to the lagoon villas as they are normally sold out or booked by last minute high rollers. The later in the day you arrive the better if the villas are still available.

Thanks for the pics! We will be there next Weds. Plunge pool was what I was offered without upgrade. I did ask for an upgrade to a lagoon villa but they were unavailable. Can’t wait for your full review!

@Dan A – You’re going to have a great time! I’m going to have another post on the resort tomorrow. I just mentioned to @Mark L that my upgrade did utilize my suite night awards. I spoke to hotel management and SPG members are rarely upgraded to the lagoon villas as they are normally sold out or booked by last minute high rollers. The later in the day you arrive the better if the villas are still available. Good luck!

It’s hard to tell from the pictures, but the “backyard” looks like it may have been crowded with all the different amenities. What’s your opinion on that?

@Scottrick – Yea, there is certainly a lot furniture out there but I didn’t find it too crowded. The Begong is really big but it’s actually pretty far from the entrance to the room near the table, chairs, and chaise lounges. Point taken though that the same amenities are found outside the lagoon villas which are much larger!

Did you take anyone with you? In my opinion, suites always seem like overkill if it’s only one guest.

@Bob – The St. Regis Suite is the smallest room the property offers!
