Cheers as Passenger Punches Flight Attendant

by Adam

In what appears to be a new trend in China, another Hong Kong Airlines flight attendant was punched by a passenger during an extended ground delay. The knockout was followed by applause from other passengers…yes, no joke. Here’s the full story from the South China Morning Post, thanks to reader Bryant in Hong Kong. The story dates back to March of this year, but Hong Kong Airlines said in a related television interview yesterday that “disruptive passenger reports continue to average three per week”.

Luckily, Hong Kong Airlines cabin crew receive Wing Chun martial arts training…

It seems like people love to fly (especially free), but hate the airlines, thier actions, and all the people related to them.

Essentially nobody flies free. I and some fly by paying with miles or points. They do not give the miles for free, they are either sold or calculated into the ticket price. That is why ticket prices that are very low sometimes give less miles. Card bonuses are a calculation that many cardholders will pay in future years and not churn.
There is never an excuse to assault a flight attendent but some really should learn some respect. I travelled on a short flight with an autistic child. he was relatively well controlled but the flight attendent made a remark that some people don’t teach their children how to behave, not realizing I was the parent. By the way, as long as the behavior remains under control his right to travel is cobered by law.
