Kiev (KBP) to Tel Aviv (TLV) on Ukraine International & Sheraton Tel Aviv for the Weekend

by Adam

I haven’t been able to post all weekend due to a BoardingArea server upgrade, but I’ve been busy on a weekend trip from Kiev to Tel Aviv. It was my first ever flight (about 2 hrs and 45 mins) on Ukraine International Airlines and it marked my first stay at the Sheraton Tel Aviv. I was impressed with both the flight (on a new 737-800) and the room at the Sheraton. I was upgraded to one of the newly renovated high-level Tower Rooms, with great views, a fantastic special lounge, butler service, and a brand new bed. I’ll have full reviews on both later in the week, but in the meantime a few pictures…

Stayed at The Sheraton in Feb. hotel could use a major renovation like most hotels along the beach including The Renaissance next door look like your back in the 60’s-70’s. The best feature of the hotel is the location. The lounge was nice and had a good selection of food and beverages. Noticed LOTS of US military brass staying at the hotel.

@iv – Yea, as do most of the hotels all over Israel. Luckily, this one is in the process. Doesn’t sound like you had one of the updated rooms but they were excellent. There’s a non-renovated lounge for the non tower guests but tower guests use the newly opened tour lounge.

The best hotels in Tel Aviv now are the newer boutique ones – there are great ones on Rothschild Blvd or elsewhere. There are some decent newer ones on the beach like the Sea Executive Suites
