Asiana’s SFO Crash Pilots Return to Work…as Ground Staff

Bloomberg is reporting that the two pilots in command of Asiana Flight 214, which struck a seawall just short of SFO airport on July 6th, will be returning to work as ground staff.

The pilots, Lee Kang Kuk and Lee Jung Min, will return to work, Lee Hyo Min, a spokeswoman for the Seoul-based airline, said. Their specific roles haven’t been determined, she said.

“It was Asiana’s first fatal accident since a Boeing 747 cargo plane went down at sea in the southern part of South Korea in July 2011”

This was their first fatal crash in two years. I can’t believe that is worded in a way that it’s supposed to be a good thing.
