I’m writing this from the First Class Lounge at Concourse A in Dubai which officially opened last February and is exclusively for A380s. The lounge is incredible and spans the entire concourse with all gates directly connected from within the lounge as well as a sit down fine dining area, private duty free shopping, cigar lounge, spa, and many other crazy amenities. Anyway, we’ve just arrived from LAX, a route that just switched to an A380 on December 1st of this year. I’ll have a full trip report upon returning to the States, but I must say – showering in the sky was as awesome as it sounds. I timed it about 2 hours prior to landing – the water was hot and refreshing, the bathroom floor heated, and everything was immaculately cleaned both before and after my shower.
The new tablet to control your TV, seat, lights, etc or to watch the live cameras or air show. Thinner and more responsive than the old versions. That’s in addition to the remote above which also controls the TV and displays both live cameras and maps.

Wow
Can’t wait to fly this myself. Your pics are pure 1st class porn.
@Neil – Yes, airline porn 😉 …
Very nice pix and I look forward to reading your full trip report. The next time that I fly Emirates First Class (A380), (hardy har-har)perhaps I’ll just book the lav for my seat and bring along my sleeping bag and Kindle. I have not looked it up and won’t, but retails for that LAX-Dubai seat must be in the $15k range.
@No Fly Zone – hahaha, not a bad plan!!
Do you share the shower with others or is that your private bathroom?
Actually speaking of showers and Neils comment, my twisted mind must ask, I wonder if this shower invites “mile high club” issues the staff has to deal with and if so, are they strict about one person only in the bathroom.
@Kent C – Hah, there are actually two shower assistants – one who shows you how to use everything (and then leaves the room) and another outside monitoring your 25 minutes in the shower (5 minutes of water time). Not sure how they feel about guests…
I was thinking the same thing about the sleeping cabins once the doors are closed… 😉
