Ryanair is Coming to America – Plans to Offer Transatlantic Flights

by Adam

This morning, Ryanair’s board approved a plan to operate flights between up to 14 destinations from Europe to the US…and fares would start as low as £10.  It’s all part of the carrier’s five year growth strategy. According to the Guardian, US destinations will include New York, Boston, Chicago, and Miami. Flights would originate in Dublin, London Stansted, and Berlin. The airline is already in talks with aircraft manufacturers to find “appropriate long-range aircraft”. Of course, the price mentioned above would simply be a base fare, with additional fees required for baggage, meals, seating assignments, etc.

“European consumers want lower-cost travel to the USA and the same for Americans coming to Europe. We see it as a logical development in the European market.”

If they haven’t even figured out what the “appropriate” plane is, then it is just a stupid PR stunt to get bloggers to talk about them…yawn. Next!

Screaming yellow colours and non-stop advertisements! Oh and don’t even try to avoid paying for a checked bag, they’ll ding you at the gate double the price. Wear knee pads!
