Emirates Will Pay for A Hotel in Sydney Before Your Early Morning Flight!

by Enoch

A month back, I reported that United Airlines will pay for a hotel room to help you get refreshed when arriving on an intentional flight in Business or First class. Emirates is apparently also paying for a hotel room, except it will pay for a full night’s stay!

Emirates is one of the major carriers for traffic from Sydney to Dubai, with many passengers traveling onward to Europe. They currently have three daily flights from Sydney to Dubai, with the earliest one leaving at 6:00 am (the other two at 4:00 pm and 9:10 pm). Since it’s an international flight, a 6 am departure time usually necessitates getting up at 3 am or earlier, depending on how far you are from the airport.

Via AusBT, Emirates will now be paying for a night’s stay at the Rydges Sydney Airport hotel, located within the international terminal of SYD. This service is only available to those traveling in Business and First class, but Emirates is hoping this move will encourage more passengers to take the early flight from Sydney.

Emirates has recently eliminated free chauffeur-drive service for those traveling on a Qantas codeshare, so I am not sure if this free night at the Rydges will be available for the same group of customers. Regardless, I think this is quite a creative way to boost traffic on the early flight.
