JetBlue Major Boston & Mint Expansion, New Nashville Service, More Mint at JFK

by Adam

JetBlue announced today that they are adding Mint service from Boston to San Francisco beginning in March 2016 (3x per day) and Los Angeles in fall 2016 (3x per day). Additionally, there will be a weekly Saturday Boston to Barbados (BGI) flight with Mint service as well.

JetBlue growth at Boston goes beyond Mint service though, additional daily flights will be added from Boston to Orlando (MCO), Fort Lauderdale (FLL), San Juan (SJU), Tampa (TPA),Raleigh–Durham (RDU), JFK, and Cleveland. Weekends will see new or increased service from Boston to Aruba (AUA), Barbados (BGI), Punta Cana (PUJ), St. Maarten (SXM), Liberia (LIR), and Providenciales (PLS).

In January 2016, JetBlue will offer an average of 118 daily departures in its winter schedule with even more frequencies in the peak travel season – up to 140 daily departures in summer 2016. This is up from 54 average daily departures in 2008 when the airline began to significantly grow its presence in Boston.

JetBlue also announced plans to serve its newest destination, Nashville (BNA), from Boston. Spring 2016 will see two daily flights between Boston and Nashville as well as a daily flight from Nashville to Fort Lauderdale (FLL).

Earlier this month after United announced they were ending p.s. service from JFK, JetBlue noted that beginning in October it will increase the number of planes with Mint service to 6 from the regular 4 currently serving JFK-SFO. After the arrival of additional A321 deliveries in Feb 2016, JetBlue will operate 10 planes with the service on a daily basis to LAX.  Additionally, beginning in November, JetBlue will provide Mint service from JFK to Aruba and Barbados.

The original Mint announcement from 2014…

We are pleased to introduce JetBlue’s new cabin interiors on our A321 aircraft. We are introducing a coast-to-coast experience that will compete with other airlines’ first and business class. There will be 143 seats in the core JetBlue Experience and 16 seats in the new, enhanced experience, four of which are private suites. Each suite offers a closing door and is a first in the domestic U.S. market.

Mint is JetBlue’s refreshing new take on a premium coast-to-coast experience – it’s top-notch service and stylish seats on our brand-new A321 aircraft without the four-digit fares you might find on other airlines. With Mint’s fully-flat seats, fresh dining options and revitalizing amenities, we’re certain you’ll be kept in Mint condition throughout your travels.
