Up to 2,500 Bonus American Airlines AAdvantage Miles!

by Michael

American Airlines and Barclays have sent out a targeted promotion for the third quarter of 2015, similar to what they did in the second quarter. From April through June, they had a targeted offer of 1.5 miles per dollar for all spend, up to 10,000 bonus miles on the AAdvantage Aviator Red Barclaycard.

They recently came out with another offer for the period of July through September, 2015:

I, and a few other Aviator Red card holders were targeted for bonus miles at supermarkets, electronic stores, and drugstores. This offer is not nearly as good as the previous one due to the lower cap on the total mileage bonus, but 2,500 bonus AAdvantage miles are nothing to shake a stick at, especially since we all shop at supermarkets and drugstores.  This also should be a relatively easy target to hit to max out the promotion, as most supermarkets and drugstores sell gift cards, both for popular merchants, as well as Visa/MC gift cards which can be unloaded via MS.

You will need to register by July 20th to enroll in the promotion. It also says that it is a targeted offer to the recipient, nontransferable, and coded to the last four digits of my credit card account number.  So if you are an American Aviator Red card holder, keep an eye on your inbox, and if you are targeted, be sure to register for this promotion to earn up to 2,500 bonus American AAdvantage miles!

I also had luck just calling in to request this, and it was available on one of my two accounts with them. Activation took just a minute or two.

Great to know! I guess it goes to show that it never hurts to ask!
