Airlines for America considers the Thanksgiving period to be the 12 day period from November 20 to December 1, 2015.  Their report indicates:

Daily passenger volumes will range from 1.4 million to 2.7 million, with the busiest travel days in ranked order expected to be Sunday, Nov. 29; Monday, Nov. 30; and Wednesday, Nov. 25. The lightest travel days are Thursday, Nov. 26, and Friday, Nov. 27.

The total number of travelers is estimated to rise 3% increase from the 24.5 million in 2014, to 25.3 million Thanksgiving air travelers this year.  The increase means that an average of 65,000 additional passengers will be flying each day of the 12 day period.  This figure is the highest in 8 years.
