Free Flights to the Caribbean/LAX/Vegas for the Fam w/ the New JetBlue Cards!

by Adam

JetBlue cut ties with American Express several months back, but did not immediately share who would take over as their card partner. The answer was revealed at the beginning of March when Barclaycard announced 3 new JetBlue cards.

I’ve always been a fan of Barclaycard given their lax rules compared to AmEx and Chase (I can’t even count how many US Airways / AAdvantage Aviator cards I’ve had). They also don’t have as many cards that I want to apply for (I currently have the Arrival Plus), so I don’t mind using a pull during my next churn for one of these cards in order to get some free flights down to the Caribbean for the family (I’m making them each get one as well). Even better, since all cards are considered separate products, if you were to eventually apply and get approved for each one, you’d end up with 70K total points.

The Flytertalk / BoardingArea consensus typically values JetBlue points at 1.3 – 1.5 cents per point, which means the 30,000 sign-up bonus is worth about $390 – $450, while the 10K sign-up bonus comes in around $130 – $150 for future JetBlue travel. The premium version of the card doesn’t just have the larger sign-up bonus, it also includes free checked bags, a 10% rebate on redemptions, higher earning for JetBlue purchases, and spend towards elite status.
