India Flight Forgets 40 Passengers as They Are Bused to Aircraft

by Adam

A flight from Kochi to Mumbai operated by SpiceJet nearly left without 40 passengers who were on a bus from the boarding gate to the aircraft when they saw the plane taxing towards the runway. Once the pilots realized their mistake, they returned to pick up the passengers. Apparently, the passengers were on the last bus that was shuttling between the terminal and the plane. The bus instead stopped at a flight heading to Chennai. The airline had this to say:

“There was a miscommunication due to inclement weather, however the same was handled efficiently by our ground services team. SpiceJet never compromises on Safety & Security of operations. Our team ensured that all passengers boarded the same flight.”

Though several passengers wondered how the crew didn’t realize something was wrong when the sold out flight had 40 empty seats.
