“Black Widow” CEO Flies Lufthansa in this New Ad

Advertising for airlines is hard. Business customers often have a corporate contracts, and many leisure travelers are ultra price-sensitive. Some airlines focus on destinations, which isn’t exactly unique. Others choose to talk about their product, their people, or their services. These can get a little…bombastic at times. Still some invest in making Coca-Cola-and-Polar-Bear-esque emotional connections. I tend to like these the best, simply because they are memorable for a human reason.

Lufthansa just unveiled its new commercial, called “CEO Wilson is Coming.” The ad opens with a company employee finding out that their CEO Wilson is flying in to visit. The message spreads quickly, and everyone in the company began scrambling to prepare for her arrival. I won’t spoil the ending for you:

The beginning of it almost feels like the scene in The Devil Wears Prada where the editor-in-chief arrives.

I really liked this commercial, and the plot twist was pretty funny. It continues the theme of “flying with the Germans,” which started in their World Cup commercial. I don’t think this commercial can top the Fanhansa one though, where two guys discovered that they had been rebooked and would be “flying with the Germans,” only to find out it wasn’t what they had expected.

What do you think of Lufthansa’s latest commercial?
