Now Open: Turkish Airlines’ Lounge in Washington Dulles – Board Directly from the Lounge!

by Enoch

Turkish Airlines has been building its first lounge in the United States in Washington Dulles (IAD) for the past few months. First noticed back in April by @pizzainmotion, the Turkish Airlines Lounge is finally officially open yesterday, September 30, 2016.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Turkish Airlines lounge in Istanbul a month ago, and was impressed with its offering. Turkish Airlines even maintain a website to showcase its lounges, though it has not yet been updated with the Washington location. Turkish Airlines only operates two lounges outside of the Turkey, in Moscow and now also Washington DC. Turkish posted a few pictures of the new lounge, which looks nicely furnished, with decent food options.

The 5,000-squared foot lounge can seat 120 passengers, and is available to Turkish Airlines Business Class passengers, as well as Miles&Smiles Elite/Elite Plus members. It will offer showers, prayer rooms, free Wi-Fi, and a variety of food and beverage options. One of the features of the lounge is also a direct connection to the air bridge, and passengers will be able to board directly from the lounge.

The lounge also bears a Star Alliance Gold logo, and Business/First Class passengers on a Star Alliance flight, as well as Star Alliance Gold members traveling international in any cabin will have access to the lounge. It looks like United Club and Air Canada Maple Leaf Club members with a same-day flight on a Star Alliance flight will also get access.

Star Alliance members already have access to the Lufthansa Senator Lounge, and the multiple United Club locations. First Class passengers can use the Lufthansa Business or United GlobalFirst lounge. The Turkish Airlines looks to be a great addition to Washington Dulles, and I’m excited to visit when I fly through there later this year!

Hi Cedric! Unfortunately, United Star Gold must be on an international itinerary to enjoy access.
