Qatar Airways Will Offer New Amenity Kits for Short-Haul Flights

by Enoch

I think Qatar Airways is going on somewhat of an amenity kit frenzy lately! In October, they announced brand new amenity kits that feature Giorgio Armani designs and products for First Class passenger. Then, less than two months later, just a week ago, they announced entirely new amenity kits for First and Business Class passengers. These new kits feature bags designed by BRIC’s, and products by Castello Monte Vibiano Vecchio.

It appears there are actually more to their new wave of amenity kit refresh. Qatar Airways has announced that they will now provide First and Business Class passengers on short-haul and medium-haul flights with a new amenity kit. I don’t think they provided any amenity kit to these shorter flights before, though someone please correct me if I’m wrong.

These “mini” kits will come in bags that are designed by New Delhi-based brand Nappa Dori, and include products by Castello Monte Vibiano Vecchio. There will be a few versions available, with the first wave focusing on cityscapes of Doha, London, and Paris. New designs will come out every few months, with four different ones in rotation at any given time.

Qatar Airways will provide customers with new, Nappa Dori-branded amenity kits on short-haul flights.

As far as content goes, it’s actually fairly basic with these kits. They will only include lip balm, socks, and eyeshades. I would have loved to see them include a toothbrush or even a mint, for freshening up after those short overnight flights. Still, these kits should be welcomed news to passengers that might want to get some shut-eye on a shorter flight.

Qatar Airways said these new kits are already out, and will be available for all First and Business Class passengers on Qatar flights shorter than 5 hours from Doha (DOH).

What do you think of these new amenity kits for short- and medium-haul flights?

QR has had a mini-kit for premium passengers on its shorter flights, though distribution is sketchy and more often than not one must ask for it. The previous one was a small black cloth bag with a string pull and contained the items described for the new kit. Last one I received was on a daytime DOH-LCA flight, though had to ask for it. These are much more refined given the redesign of the outer case. Appears one style would make a good smart phone case, the smaller one a container for coins.
