This morning, Hyatt formally announced their decision to acquire Two Roads Hospitality, a leisure hotel management company with luxury hotels around the globe.
The acquisition allows Hyatt to further expand its portfolio within the luxury destination space. Like Hyatt’s takeover of Small Luxury Hotels this past summer, it also means that World of Hyatt members will have more than ever to choose from. According to the press release, the integration of TRH properties into the World of Hyatt program will take place in 2019.
Two Roads Hospitality
Two Roads Hospitality comprises Destination Hotels, Joie de Vivre Hotels, Thompson Hotels, tommie, and Alila Hotels & Resorts. Founded in 2016, TRH curates a collection of unique, design-forward properties with a focus on passionate people and remarkable experiences.
The company boasts 85 hotels in eight countries in Asia and North America. Some of their notable properties include Terranea Resort in California, Cliff House in Maine, and Thompson’s The Cape in Cabo San Lucas. Two Roads Hospitality is a member of Virtuoso. All told, Hyatt will expand into 23 new markets. Many of these properties will eventually be integrated into the World of Hyatt program.
The press release notes that Hyatt plans to create a dedicated lifestyle division to bring together the operations of Two Roads’ and Hyatt’s lifestyle brands.
