United Polaris Business Serves Drinks with American Airlines Logo Glassware

by Adam

Here’s something you don’t see every day! Nathan, a Point Me to the Plane reader, sends in this photo from UA 198 flying LAX – Shanghai, where he was served his United Polaris business class drink using AA First / Business glassware – AA logo and all.

The purser mentioned to Nathan that it happens more often than one would think and it’s mostly due to catering mistakes. In true United fashion, the glass was swapped out only after food was dropped on it, not when the flight attendant first noticed it!

I’ve seen this happenon several different airlines before. It happens. The alternative is to be served drinks in a plastic cup or have the crews refuse the catering carts and take a delay. I’d just prefer they get on with the flight and the service instead of whining about a logo on a glass.

I’ve also seen this with branded snacks. Like Biscofs on RJ AA eagle flights serving Delta branded Biscoffs. Fun stuff.

Seen it happen on a AA Eagle flight. Catering for Aeromexico served on an E-190. ‍♂️

I just hope their mechanics are more careful than their caterers!
