There’s a Double Points Promotion at IHG Hotels (including Holiday Inn) This Month

by Anna

We have less than a month to take advantage of IHG current promotion and earn double points on hotel stays. This is yet another hotel promotion that you might as well register for, so long as there’s even a remote chance you’ll stay at an Intercontinental Hotels Group property before the end of the year.

IHG Double Points Starting with Your Second Stay

Stay between now and December 31 and earn double points on all your stays (up to 15,000 points), starting with your second stay. This is not the greatest promotion IHG had ever run, still well worth registering for.

I’ve registered for the promotion and on the next screen IHG showed me two additional deals, both end on December 16:

  • Earn 12,000 bonus points when you book 2 stay(s) of 4 or more consecutive nights
  • Stay at 2 brands and get 11,200 bonus points

These additional promotions are different for each member, so it’s definitely worth checking your IHG account to see if you’ve got anything worthwhile.

There’s not much time left to take advantage of these promos, but I am glad I checked in case something unexpected comes up. I am already sick of winter, and the thought of warm weather getaway had crossed my mind.

IHG has more “basic” brands, like Holiday Inn Express, and some really amazing properties like Intercontinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort.

While it’s not Marriott-Starwood, IHG still has a huge footprint and IHG rewards points can be used at hundreds of hotels worldwide.

In addition, the Chase IHG Rewards Club Premier Credit Card earns 10 points per $1 spent at any IHG property. So if you have this card, it would make sense to use it to pay for your stay. IHG is a Chase Ultimate Rewards transfer partner, but redemption values tend to be at or below the 1.25 cent-per-point rate that Chase Sapphire Preferred cardholders get through the travel portal, and below the 1.5 cent-per-point redemptions that Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders enjoy.

Either of those cards would be my choice when booking, unless you’re taking advantage of the Capital One Venture 10x miles Hotels.com deal, of course.
