Chase Announces New Hotel Benefit For Sapphire Reserve Cardholders

by Chris Dong

Extract more value from the Chase Sapphire Reserve card in your wallet. Chase has announced a partnership with a chain of luxury hotels to provide exclusive benefits for Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders.

Chase has linked up with sbe (yes, it’s lower case on purpose), a lifestyle hospitality company that owns 29 hotels worldwide.

Details Of The New Chase Sapphire Reserve and sbe Benefit

While you may not have heard of sbe, you probably recognize some of their hotel brands including SLS, Delano, and Mondrian. These are the trendy (and pricey) brands you see in cities like Miami, Las Vegas, and New York. You might also recognize them because many are part of American Express Platinum‘s Fine Hotels and Resorts program

In fact, Chase seems to be taking a page directly from a top perk of the American Express Platinum.

Here are the benefits of the Chase Sapphire Reserve and sbe partnership:

  • Fourth night free
  • $30 hotel credit per room, eligible towards food and beverage
  • Complimentary upgrades for hotel rooms (when available)
  • Daily continental breakfast for two people
  • Complimentary Wifi access
  • Late check out (when available)

To take advantage of the perks, payment must be made on the Chase Sapphire Reserve card. Reservations also have to be booked through this website.

It looks like 19 sbe hotels are initially part of this program with 9 located in Miami alone. The full list can be found here.

The Upshot

It’s cool to see some added value for the Chase Sapphire Reserve. The benefits are in fact very similar to AMEX’s Fine Hotels and Resorts, on a much smaller scale. Smart move on Chase’s part. These hotels also have a millennial-esque vibe that fall right in line with the target market that Chase goes after for its metal Reserve card.

Will you be taking advantage of this new Chase Sapphire Reserve benefit?
