Mid-Air Fight Breaks Out Onboard Yet Another Ryanair Flight

by Zoe

It seems like brawls onboard are all the rage these days. Ryanair flights are no stranger to in-air mayhem, but a flight yesterday from Glasgow to Tenerife took a rather savage turn.

Social media footage shows a chaotic scene where two men come to blows as fellow passengers scream for them to stop. One of the men reportedly bit the other man’s nose, with the man’s face covered in blood post-altercation.

A passenger onboard filmed the entire scene and posted it onto Twitter:

The situation arose from a woman not wearing shoes to the lavatory (gross in its own right). One man, apparently intoxicated, took issue with this and got in a heated confrontation with the woman’s boyfriend. Punches were thrown and chaos ensued. Blood can be seen splattered throughout the cabin, including on the overhead bins.

The crew of the flight had to request for police assistance upon landing in Tenerife. Thankfully, no one else was injured and the flight was able to remain on course.

The Upshot

It was just last month that a Ryanair mid-air brawl made headlines for causing a diversion. We’ve covered a few Ryanair incidents so this is just the latest in a series of flights gone wrong.

A handful of intoxicated and aggressive passengers packed like sardines headed to a leisure destination is apparently a recipe for disaster. Ryanair seems to be living up to its reputation these days.

The issue is one of brits, travel and alcohol create a volatile mix. I am not sure that Ryanair plays a part in this or they are just the vessel for the mix.
