Delta periodically offers increased sign up bonuses for its most popular American Express co-branded cards. Currently, the Gold Delta SkyMiles Credit Card has a referral offer of 60,000 bonus SkyMiles after spending $2,000 within the first 3 months of card opening. The annual fee is waived for the first year and $95 a year thereafter. (See rates & fees.)
However, Delta is emailing out targeted offers for 70,000 bonus SkyMiles for the Gold Delta SkyMiles card, one of the highest ever offers we’ve seen. Note that the $95 annual fee is not waived for this increased sign up offer.
Besides the bonus SkyMiles, you’d also earn a $50 Delta statement credit if a Delta purchase is made within 3 months of card opening. Your first checked bag free and Main Cabin 1 boarding also come as perks.
Check your email to see if you’ve been targeted or enter your SkyMiles number on this landing page.
When I clicked through on the landing page, 70,000 bonus SkyMiles was also available for the Platinum Delta SkyMiles card. That card has a few more benefits including a $100 Delta statement credit and an annual companion certificate. We outlined how to best use the companion certificate in this post.
If you value SkyMiles at slightly more than one cent per mile like I do, the 70,000 SkyMiles targeted offer even with a $95 annual fee comes out slightly ahead.
However, if you aren’t targeted, the 60,000 SkyMiles referral offer with no fees the first year is still a great option for Delta’s co-branded card.
