British Airways is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, and they’ve come out firing with deals left and right. First, the airline offered £100 one-way flights as part of a flash sale (long since expired). More recently, British Airways offered double Avios on flights booked through April 19th and flown by the end of the year. That offer is still live and you can sign up here.

Now, British Airways is back with a spring sale to knock down the price of a roundtrip flight by up to $200. With the power of deal stacking, this makes for an excellent time to book a flight on British Airways.

The Latest British Airways Offer

As part of its spring sale, British Airways is offering $100 off economy and premium economy fares (minimum $500 fare). They’re also offering $200 off business class and first class fares (minimum $1,500 fare). Here are the rules:

  • Travel Dates: Flights must be booked for travel between June 1, 2019 and September 30, 2019
  • Sale End Date: The deal is only valid for flights booked before midnight EST on April 18, 2019
  • How To Apply: Use promo code SPRING100 for economy and premium economy and SPRING200 for business and first class
  • Other Rules: Must be a US-based Executive Club member and only applicable on flights to London or Europe on British Airways operated flights (no codeshares).

Stack With British Airways Double Avios Promotion

As mentioned, British Airways is still offering double Avios for flights booked until April 19, 2019 and for travel through the end of the year. Yes, that means if you register for both promotions and book by tomorrow and fly to Europe by September 30, you can stack both offers. But it gets even better…

And Also Stack With British Airways AARP Discount

British Airways partners with AARP to offer up to $200 off on roundtrip flights that originate in the US. Think you have to be on the older side and/or retired to become an AARP member? Think again. A $16 per year membership is available to anyone, and as a 20-something, I have a membership. There’s travel, entertainment, healthcare, and dining deals to be had. But if you’re reading this blog, you’re probably most interested in the British Airways discount.

The AARP Offer:

  • $65 off a roundtrip flight in economy or premium economy
  • $200 off a roundtrip flight in business or first

I can confirm that this AARP discount works on top of the two other offers listed above.

Comparing Fares For A Flight:

Here’s a random roundtrip economy flight for September 2019 from New York (JFK) to Berlin (TXL) — without either the spring coupon code applied or the use of the AARP offer.

The total cost is $1,144.11. (This fare isn’t a great deal, but this is just for illustrative purposes.)

That same flight using the British Airways AARP booking portal and the “SPRING100” promo code nets a total price of $979.11 ($65 off with AARP and $100 off with promotion code).  This shows that the AARP promotion can be applied alongside the spring coupon code.

Of course, you’d also receive double Avios if registered for the promotion.

Triple stack complete.

Quadruple Stack With British Airways Visa Signature Card Promotion Code?

In practice, I wonder if it’s possible to stack yet another offer if you hold the British Airways Visa Signature card. The card offers 10% off the total cost of the fare (including taxes, fees, and carrier charges) when you use the code “CHASEBA10.” The terms of the spring promotion code state you cannot combine the code with any others, but your mileage may vary, so it’s worth giving it a shot.

The Upshot

It’s been a busy few months for British Airways. Between a handful of deals, there’s of course been the unveiling of their new Club World Suites product, new retro liveries, and specially made in-flight beer.

This is an easy way to save a few hundred dollars off your next British Airways flight (and get double miles). If you’ve been planning on booking soon, now is the time to do it.
