Things are looking bigger and brighter for World of Hyatt members these days. Last fall, Hyatt announced an alliance with Small Luxury Hotels, with an initial 54 properties joining the World of Hyatt program. A second wave of 56 properties joined in January. And now, World of Hyatt members will be able to earn and redeem points at more than 200 Small Luxury Hotels (SLH) worldwide.

This latest wave of properties includes more properties across Europe and Asia, where Hyatt’s footprint has always been limited. Here’s the latest list of additional hotels:

Hyatt And Small Luxury Hotels

The latest expansion in this unique loyalty alliance throws the doors wide open for World of Hyatt members to enjoy on-property benefits at luxury hotels like Bay of Many Coves (New Zealand), Monkey Island Retreat (England), and Enso Ango Fuya II (Japan).

“We encourage World of Hyatt members to explore these luxurious destinations around the globe, from Croatia to New Zealand,” said Amy Weinberg, senior vice president, World of Hyatt. “The rapid growth of this strategic loyalty alliance is a testament to our commitment to delivering unique experiences wherever our members travel and continuing to extend the genuine care they have come to expect from Hyatt to more locations around the world.”

Earning World of Hyatt Points

Points earning will be standard with World of Hyatt members earning five Base Points per $1 USD spent on eligible room revenue, with tier bonuses for elites. Qualifying nights at participating SLH hotels will count toward earning World of Hyatt elite status and these SLH properties can be used for free night awards as a yearly benefit of The World of Hyatt credit card.

Participating SLH properties will provide the following on-property benefits to all World of Hyatt elite members, regardless of level:

  • Complimentary Wi-Fi
  • Daily complimentary continental breakfast for two guests
  • Room upgrade (one category at check-in if available)
  • Early check-in (noon, based upon availability at check-in)
  • Late check-out (2:00pm, based upon availability at check-in)

Rome recently surpassed London with the most World of Hyatt member bookings.

The partnership appears to be working for all parties, as World of Hyatt members are booking thousands of nights at SLH hotels, namely in places like Italy, Greece, and England. Rome recently surpassed London with the most member bookings.

Using Points For SLH Stays

This chart shows how many World of Hyatt points are required for stays at each category level. The new category 8 was only introduced with the announcement of Hyatt’s new portfolio last year and represents about 11 SLH properties.

There’s a couple of options to boost your World of Hyatt points balance. You can earn Hyatt points directly with the World of Hyatt Credit Cardwhich offers 50,000 points after meeting the minimum required spend. You’d also earn a free night at any Category 1-4 hotel after each cardmember anniversary year. The other option is to earn Ultimate Rewards points with Chase and transfer them to your World of Hyatt account at a 1:1 ratio. Here’s how to transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards for free nights at Hyatt.

A couple of the best Ultimate Rewards earning cards right now are the Ink Business Preferred (80,000 bonus Ultimate Rewards points) and the Chase Sapphire Preferred (50,000 bonus Ultimate Rewards points).
