Airlines Add Additional Service for Super Bowl, PHL-MSP Pricing over $1K in Economy on United, Southwest, Delta, & American

by Adam

United Airlines, who doesn’t normally serve the Philadelphia – Minneapolis market, is charging $1049 for a return economy trip…and that’s cheaper than Delta and American who are closer to $2K on their standard PHL-MSP-PHL flights. United normally offers 26 daily flights from its hubs to Minneapolis, but the carrier has also added 16 flights for Super Bowl Weekend. Cities that will see new United service for the weekend include Boston, Philadelphia, and Providence among others.

“We want United Airlines to be the first choice for football fans planning their travel to Minneapolis,” Grant Whitney, United’s vice president of domestic network planning, said in a statement. “In addition to our regular daily nonstop service, we’re making it easier for all of our customers to get to the game while also bolstering service from our hubs.”

Pricing on the route drops to $334 on both Delta and American for the following weekend:

PHL-MSP Super Bowl Weekend

PHL-MSP-PHL 1 Wk Post Super Bowl

PHL-MSP-PHL 1 Wk Pre Super Bowl

Southwest also added non-stop flights between the cities which priced over $1200 round-trip when they were released this morning.
