Incredible: British Airways Operates Entire Flight With Dads & Their Kids For Father’s Day

by Chris Dong

In case you missed it, today is Father’s Day in both the United States and the United Kingdom. (Happy Father’s Day, dads!)

To celebrate the day, British Airways planned an incredible surprise for some fathers and their adult children — by pairing them to work together on a one-of-a-kind flight.

Here was the concept: British Airways gave the opportunity for dads working for the airline to team up with their sons and daughters, also BA employees.

The special flight was BA273, from London-Heathrow to San Diego, and every aspect of the flight — from cabin crew to airport operations to engineers and even the pilots — were staffed by a father-son or a father-daughter duo.

Amazingly, most of these family pairs had never worked together before, and some were even inspired by the fathers to begin a career in aviation.

British Airways is no stranger to producing heartwarming marketing content. The airline is famously known for producing #BAMagic videos where they reunite families and individuals thousands of miles apart.

Humanizing the airline experience, where things can easily feel like giant corporate flying machines, is important to instill good will for both employees and external customers. And for these fathers and their adult children, it must have been an incredible flight to be able to work — and a moment they will never forget.
