Great Deal: 25% Off HotelTonight Bookings

by Chris Dong

Cyber Monday means a barrage of emails from your favorite (and not-so-favorite) brands. HotelTonight falls under the “favorite” category, as it’s one of my go-to apps when I’m searching for an affordable hotel. I often don’t care about earning points directly with a chain property, and will spring for smaller boutique hotels or Airbnbs when I’m traveling.

I’ve been a HotelTonight user for years, and their app can only described in one word — slick. Unlike what their name suggests, HotelTonight bookings don’t have to be for a reservation tonight only (although, it used to operate like that).

The Deal

The HotelTonight deal is super straightforward — get 25% off a reservation by using code HTDEAL25 at checkout on the mobile app. This code is valid only on bookings made December 2-3, 2019 and for travel through March 20, 2020.

Part of HotelTonight’s model and unique value proposition is to pass along savings on last-minute bookings where hotels have excess room inventory. Of course, this doesn’t exactly apply to rooms that are booked further in the future, and pricing might be similar to what you find elsewhere online.

However, the app is really well done and fairly intuitive, and it was clearly created to be user-friendly. HotelTonight even has a revenue-based loyalty program of sorts that gives you access to more discounts and credits as you spend more on the platform.

Still, I would price shop and look at other online travel agencies to get a gauge if you’re truly getting a good deal.

You can download the app and get $25 off your first booking with my code CDONG8 (I also get $25.)

Unlike many other apps when you enter the code upon signing up, this code is entered at checkout. That means you cannot combine the $25 referral offer with the 25% off code. I’d suggest using the 25% promo code (HTDEAL25) for an immediate booking, and save the $25 referral code for the future.
