Guide: How To Match (And Rematch) To Wyndham Diamond Status

by Bill Shuman

It’s hard to believe that it was almost this time last year that I took advantage of the status matching offer that allowed me to become a Wyndham Diamond member.  Sadly, once the new year rolled around,  I was kicked back to being a Blue member in the Wyndham program. Thankfully, due to their continued partnership with Caesars Entertainment, I was able to rematch my Caesars Rewards Diamond to Wyndham Diamond. This enabled me to retain my Wyndham benefits for the whole 2020 calendar year. After this month, I plan on using this to rematch for Caesars Diamond benefits.

How To Match (And Rematch) From Caesars Diamond to Wyndham Diamond

For those that matched into Wyndham Diamond last year (as of January 1st, 2020), your elite level was adjusted. Thankfully, due to the off calendar years, Caesars Rewards Diamond status doesn’t expire until January 31, 2020.

We will use that to rematch to Wyndham Diamond for 2020. Here’s the steps you need to take:

  1. Visit Caesars Status Matching Website
  2. Select “I am a Caesars Rewards member”
  3. Log into your Wyndham Account
  4. Enter your Caesars Account Information
  5. Hit the “Match My Status” button

No Wyndham Diamond Status? No Problem.

For those that are brand new this status match opportunity, don’t worry. There are a few easy ways to acquire this Wyndham Diamond status match. The best method is by status matching from another hotel program. Follow this link and click on “other hotel loyalty programs” for a complete list.

Wyndham offers a generous status matching program and will match their Diamond status from other programs like Hilton Gold or IHG Platinum. Thankfully, there are several credit cards that will give you automatic status that you can then use to match to Wyndham Diamond, and later Caesars Rewards. A couple of them are:

All Aboard the Status Matching Train

Those that followed along with several of my posts last year are no strangers as to how this status matching train works. By holding Wyndham Diamond, it opens up a plethora of opportunities for additional status matches. The first, and the most important one for me, was for Caesars Rewards Diamond.

From there, this turned into Mlife Gold, Hyatt Explorist, and Hard Rock Rock Royalty. Overall, these status matches provided me with a couple thousand dollars worth of benefits in 2019 and will continue to be beneficial to me during 2020 especially during my Hyatt Globalist run.

A status match from Caesars to Mlife provided free nights at the Borgata in 2019.

The Upshot

I’ve managed to kick 2020 off by acquiring several top tier statuses in the first few days, including Wyndham Diamond. Although I don’t have a direct plans to stay at a Wyndham property this year, I have every intention of spending lots of time at the poker tables with their partner, Caesars.

Either way, having top tier status with any loyalty program for the entire year is always a nice perk.

How long does it take for Wyndham to complete the status match? I filed 72 hours ago and haven’t heard a word yet from them. Thanks!

My status match was instant this time. Is this the first time you’ve connected these programs? If so, it might take a few days.

Never mind, found the answer to my question. Not bad at all… two free nights and a buffet!!!

Two complimentary nights, valid any day of the week
$50 Bonus Free Play
Two complimentary tickets to Howie Mandel’s Comedy Club
One-time entry for you and one guest into Fresh Harvest Buffet or Legends Lounge

Correct! The best part is you have 90 days to use the hotel nights. This allowed me to make a return trip to AC and have some more free hotel nights.

I see Wyndham is now requiring the member to have 14 nights to retain Diamond after a successful match. Assuming you don’t get the 14 nights, can you simply re-match from Caesar’s, again and again?

Josh,

I won’t get 14 nights, but still retained Diamond via the second method. This is the same as the Hyatt-Mlife status match. Just keep on flipping them back and you’ll keep your status.

How long did it take for Caesers to status match your Wyndham? I did the form online a couple days ago – haven’t seen anything yet. Still just “Gold” on the Caesers program.

I think it was pretty quick, but it’s been a while. Perhaps someone whose done it more recently can comment in on their wait. Either way if it’s over a week, I’d give Caesars a holler.

Matching to Caesars Diamond from Wyndham Diamond online yields the following online confirmation message: “Thank you! Your Caesars Rewards tier status will be updated to Diamond within 7 business days.” (When I did the Caesars-Wyndham online match on 2/1/2019, the upgrade was completed in the wee hours of 2/6/2019.)

Has anyone received the Wyndham>Caesar match for the new year yet? I submitted early on 2/1. Just curious to see how many have gotten the status.

I submitted mine at 1am on 2/1 and am still waiting on the match. In the process, I had my Diamond card taken from me that evening despite showing them the email that I had received.

Just checked mine and have good news as well. Back to Diamond. First, thing I’m doing on Saturday night when I head to Tunica is reclaiming my Diamond card.

I missed the window to match my Diamond Ceasar >Wydham in Jan; and back to Ceasar in Feb. What can I do? Is there a limit to match Marriott Gold>Wyndham Diamond?

As far as I know there hasn’t been any issue. Definitely let us know if you find out differently.
