Hyatt’s Free Elite Tier Status Offer, No Match Required – Do You Qualify? Fast Track to Globalist

by Shelli Stein

Does having elite tier status with World of Hyatt interest you? Does temporarily gaining said status by simply entering your email address grab your attention even more? If so, Hyatt has a corporate trial elite program you need to know about.

This program caught my attention a while back when Gary at View From The Wing first mentioned it. I wanted to understand how it worked and who qualified, so I reached out to Hyatt with my questions. Hyatt clarified the particulars of the program.

Here’s what you need to know.

  • Just sign up by November 28 for immediate Explorist status (second from top tier) which will be valid for 90 days.
  • Stay 10 nights during those 90 days to keep status through February 2020. 20 nights during that period gets Globalist till February 2020.

My Questions For Hyatt

1.  I asked Hyatt if there a list of companies/institutions that qualify or do people just put in their work email and see what comes up when they click submit?

Hyatt told me that this promotion is for companies they have identified or companies that have requested corporate rates. It’s not a promotion that is available to everyone. It is a targeted list of members/guests that work for specific companies

“The Elite Tier Offer is only valid for World of Hyatt members who are employed by an entity that has received an invitation from Hyatt for its employees to participate in this offer. It is a secure offer with a secured registration process that is only available to World of Hyatt members employed by the company that has received an invitation from Hyatt for its employees to participate.”

2. I wondered if employees of companies would be told about their company being in the Elite Tier Offer or is it more likely they’d have to ask HR or some other division of their company if their company qualifies?

Hyatt suggested that employees of qualifying companies should be notified about the Elite Tier Offer and that notification is usually done through their intranet channel, but it’s dependent on how the company goes about communicating this news to individual employees. It is up to the company to say ‘yes’ they want to participate and then promote the offer in their determined internal channels.

Upshot

Hyatt did mention that I would be surprised by how many employees do not know that they have negotiated corporate rates available to them. Apparently, the offer has been available since March. Even though it’s targeted to specific companies, and you need to register with your company email address in order to qualify, it’s certainly worth checking out. Hey, your company may be targeted and never informed you.  Taking a minute to provide your World of Hyatt member number and an email address is certainly worth whatever money you’ll save on your room rate and can even get you elite status, as well.

Any idea if the nights have to be paid nights of do free nights using your points count?

HI Jillian, I’m a bit confused by your question. If you work for a qualified company and use the Hyatt Elite Tier offer site, you will get a corporate rate rather than the standard cash rate per night. These are not booked through Hyatt.com so an option for points doesn’t appear in the offer.
