Driver Creates Uber Ride “Menu” For Passengers

by Shelli Stein

I don’t know about you, but when I want to get somewhere and need a taxi or Uber, I choose a taxi. Why? I just don’t like all the shenanigans of rating an Uber driver, and more importantly, having an Uber driver rate me. Maybe you’re a better conversationalist than I am, but the idea that an Uber driver can rate me on the quality of my conversation is just ridiculous.

I just want to get from point A to point B with the least amount of fuss as possible. But even though a taxi or Uber ride, for example, is immensely briefer than most airplane flights, they can seem unbearably long and uncomfortable. It comes down to that testy relationship between driver and rider.

However, there is one Uber driver who understands this and I think he has read my mind! He even refuses to talk about the one topic I too refuse to talk about with taxi and Uber drivers.

This driver has come up with the most creative Uber ride “menu:” offering ride options for his passengers. There’s an option for just about everyone I can think of. Depending on what kind of mood his passengers are in, they can choose among different ride experiences.

Some of the Uber ride “menu” items include:

  • The Analyst Ride (Need help figuring out a problem?)
  • The Restaurant Ride (Need to know where to eat?)
  • Simon and Garfunkel Ride (Sounds of silence…..)

This particular Uber driver is located in Fairbanks, Alaska. He shows that a creative solution to the driver and rider awkwardness can be made more palatable with a good dose of humor. Makes me think I’m due for another trip to one of my favorite cities.

Which of these menu options would you choose?

That’s brilliant. I might go to Fairbanks just to ride with this guy!

I agree on the brilliance! Hoping other Uber drivers follow suit. Thanks for reading, Kk.
