One of the can’t-miss perks of the Platinum Card by American Express is a $200 per year credit on Uber or UberEats. For UberEats, while food delivery is great, there are a handful of pesky fees that slightly diminish its value — including a service fee, delivery fee, and an optional tip to the delivery person. Thankfully, if pickup is more your style (and want to save a few bucks) Uber is now making UberEats orders available for pickup.
And to promote the availability of pickup, UberEats is offering $5 off to targeted customers.
Use code 5OFFPICKUP for $5 off your first pickup order.
This offer is valid for $5 off your first Pickup order. Offer expires at 11:55pm PT on November 1, 2019, and is limited to one order per customer.
There are so many delivery options in New York City (and just food in general) that UberEats is typically lower on my list because of their numerous fees. However, it now will be a nice option to pickup a meal while on-the-go, and still use my Amex Platinum credit.
Besides the Platinum, the lower annual fee American Express Gold card also comes with a Grubhub / Seamless credit of $10 per month. That credit is also usable for both pickup and delivery. (Super useful for late-night Thai food straight to my door.)
