Future of the Shooter’s Suite @ Mandalay Bay & MGM’s Large Donation to Victims

by Adam

In the wake of the horrible tragedy and deadliest mass shooting in modern US history, Yahoo asks what will happen to the suite that sniper Stephen Paddock rained down terror from. An associate professor of hospitality management tells the site that once the investigation is complete the first thing that has to be done is to repair the windows.

What is extremely important for them to do right now is repair those windows. As long as those windows are gaping open, it’s a reminder of the event.”

He also says that the room will like be transformed into storage space or another use, though at minimum it will “be gutted, refurbished and renumbered.” He suggests that MGM might even refurbish the entire floor.

“For people to go on — whether it be survivors, the families of the victims or employees — something has to happen so that that room does not stay as a reminder of this heinous act that took place in our country,”

Meanwhile, MGM says that they are concentrating on security of guests and assisting in the investigation right now, with no comment on the future state of the room.

After Whitney Houston was found dead in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton in 2012, the suite was redecorated, refurnished, and renumbered.  The Days Inn in where Selena was murdered in 1995 was also refurbished and renumbered.

MGM has made a $3 million donation to the relief effort to fund humanitarian assistance for families of the victims and the first responders of last Sunday’s mass shooting. CEO Jim Murren said:

“There are simply no words to express our grief and outrage. With this donation, we hope to make a difference to those who were harmed and those who are left behind.”

I still think it’s more to the story than Americans are told! Just don’t add up with details they are posting!!

The true story is he did it be because he was disgusted about how his race was treating people of color. He targeted a country concert. Why would a well off white man target that. That should tell you something. His note mentions it. But you won’t see the real note. The police have to play cover up.

The hotel itself is 18 years-old, and should be imploded by professional demolition experts. Many other properties have been torn down in Las Vegas that were about the same age (search on youtube if you have any doubts).

Leveling the place is the only sure way to prevent the tragedy from affecting the other property owners on Las Vegas Blvd. and the Las Vegas economy as a whole in a very negative way over the longer term. Will that happen? MGM is likely to resist taking the financial hit associated with that decision in the short-term. But to just replace windows and pretend nothing happened is pure folly, MGM itself might well eventually go under if they are naive enough to think that’s all that is required to move past the incident.

Same fate is in store for the concert venue, it is finished. They should build a new hotel on the concert grounds, and the instant it is finished and open for business, the dynamite should bring down the Mandalay Bay next door.
