Granted, this is a short 2 1/2 hour flight and it looks like there was no one in the middle seat (at first I thought this was business class as the seats in economy are the same…though the middle seat is not blocked off in these photos), but it seems that Madonna selected economy seating for her flight from London Heathrow (LHR) to Lisbon (LIS).
The Daily Mail reports that her fellow passengers were in disbelief (maybe a bit of an exaggeration in their “endless glasses of champagne” description for this 2 1/2 hour flight hah).
Other passengers could not believe their eyes as they watched the 59-year-old star swap first-class’ added leg room and endless glasses of champagne for a spot by the window in the plane’s cheapest section, where seats start from as little as £42.
Madonna, worth an estimated $800M, dressed like a normal passenger in jeans, a jacket, and Adidas sneakers.

The visible bulkhead means it’s the first row, which is business class. Blocked doesn’t mean there’s a physical barrier on the middle seat (most of the time).
She’s smart. TAP undoubtedly has the worst of all the bad intra-European business classes. I would pay about 10 cents to fly business over econmoy on them, and then only so I could escape the misery more quickly. Worst business class EVER.
It’s true business class on all European airlines within Europe really is no different than coach. Same seats and legroom. Why pay the premium just for the booze?
[…] lives. Why would the biggest pop star — worth $750 million — fly in a seat that goes for just $62 on TAP […]
